More details

A Rome to Sorrento private transfer replaces a train, a station change and a crowded local line with one comfortable drive from your hotel in Rome, Termini station or Fiumicino and Ciampino airports straight to your accommodation in Sorrento. In normal traffic the journey takes about three and a half to four and a quarter hours, mostly on the A1 motorway south through Lazio and Campania, then past Vesuvius and along the Sorrento coast road.

The most popular extra is a stop at Pompeii. The ruins are roughly on the way, so you can break the trip with a visit of about two to three hours and arrive in Sorrento in the late afternoon. Your luggage can stay in the vehicle while you walk the site, which matters because large bags are not allowed inside the archaeological park. Book your Pompeii tickets in advance on the official website, or ask us to arrange the timing around a guided visit.

The trip is planned around your day. Tell us your preferred departure time, or your flight or train number if you are arriving in Rome, and the driver adjusts to delays. Send the number of passengers and suitcases so the vehicle has room for everything, and ask for child seats or boosters if you need them; they are available on request. Toilet and coffee stops at motorway service areas are part of a long drive, just ask the driver when you need one.

At pickup the driver meets you in your hotel lobby, at the arrivals hall with a name sign, or at an agreed point at Termini station. At the other end you are dropped at the door, or at the nearest point a car can reach if your hotel is in the pedestrian centre of Sorrento. For families and groups, a single private car is often the least stressful way to cover the whole distance with luggage.
